Best Makeup Products for Beginners

Are you beginning to experiment with makeup? Don’t really know what works for you? Don’t know what the heck to buy for beginners? GIRL I GOT YOU! I know how it was like when I began to use makeup, I had no guidance and no idea what the heck I was doing. THE STRUGGLE IS REAL. Let me just say Youtube is your best friend at times like this.

Are you willing to spend a lot of money on makeup?...Well I wasn’t so let’s see what’s a good steal from a drugstore shall we? Obviously if you are blessed with enough money to spoil yourself rotten with high brand products then by all means go for it, but if you have a certain budget like your girl, then you came to the right place.

1. Primer

First off when talking about primers, I need something that will mattify my face because I have oily skin, if you have the same issue as me then I highly recommend the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser. This product settles nicely into the skin and leaves your face matte when foundation is applied! If you have dry skin, use the Master prime by Maybelline.

2. Foundation

Speaking of foundation, I recommend the Maybelline New York SuperStay 24hr full coverage foundation. I know there are different coverages of foundation people like and want but I always go for a full coverage look. If you want something soft and not too crazy I recommend the Maybelline FIT me! Foundation, it gives more of a natural look and girl for $6.00, that’s a steal!

3. Concealer

Concealer is used for erasing those little blemishes that all girls have. The concealer I highly recommend is the Maybelline instant age rewind concealer and the Maybelline FaceStudio master conceal, these will do the job that needs to be done. And honestly I feel that these are better than high brand concealers.

4. Setting powder

Next we got some serious matter to discuss, setting powders. I have recently been using the coty airspun powder and I like it a lot, it gives your face the satisfaction of a soft smooth silky appearance and its only $5.00, another one that I highly recommend is the FIT me! loose setting powder, and as an oily sister, these powders are outstanding.

5. Contour / Bronzer

When talking bronzer, the one I love is the Bronze it Bronzer by L’oreal. This bronzer settles onto the skin so perfectly and gives off natural glowy vibes, I highly recommend it. Now moving on with contour, the NYX highlight and contour pro palette is your best friend here, this is by far the best drugstore contour palette I have used (MY PERSONAL OPINION).

6. Highlighter

Highlighter is the makeup product that is going to make your face look like a goddess. My favorite drugstore highlighter is definitely the Wet n Wild MegaGlo loose highlighting powder. This highlighter is the best one I have tried so far. Another one I highly recommend is the Master chrome highlighter by Maybelline. THESE ARE HOLY GRAILS FOR ME! These highlighters will give you that right bling-bling.

7. Eyebrows

When it comes to brows, having the right product can make a huge difference on your face. There are however products that cause fallout, which tend to fall right underneath your eyes. A product that I'm using for now is the brow pomade by salon perfect, if you want a pomade go with that, if you want a pencil I recommend the NYX cosmetics micro brow pencil. BOMB PRODUCTS!

8. Blush

Who wouldn’t like to have nice pink cheeks? Adding blush to your final makeup look can make you look more alive, having plain cheeks isn’t bad at all but adding a pop of color can make a positive difference. I personally don’t really wear blush but if you do wear blush then I recommend is the Milani baked blush, this gives your cheeks that smooth natural look.

9. Lips

The best lip product I have tried is the Revlon matte balm. This product is by far the best thing I have ever laid on my lips, the texture is smooth, rich and creamy which makes it easy to apply. It gives your lips a nice shade. I use the shade elusive, it’s a pink nude shade. I highly recommend this product to anybody.

Makeup isn’t necessary

Now that that is done, I believe every woman is naturally beautiful, and you don’t need to wear it...it’s not mandatory! If you choose to wear makeup it’s because it’s going to help you feel more confident and comfortable in your own skin. Please don’t use makeup if you really don’t need it. You make beauty what it is, YOU are beauty.

I personally feel that Generation Z has changed the true meaning of beauty. There have been so many beauty trends going on that makes people feel the need to try their hardest to fit in with the rest of the crowd and go with the flow. It has brought down people's self esteem and confidence.
